1Īt the same time, in recent years, the mindfulness field has become increasingly aware of the potentially adverse effects of meditation practice for people with a history of trauma, largely thanks to the work of Willoughby Britton and colleagues. Evidence suggests that eight-week courses are efficacious in university settings, with students particularly benefitting from the prophylactic impact of mindfulness during exam season.
